wendema
a moldable textile
The design "wendema" is a moldable piece of furniture to sit on, crawl in and to relax with. It can be crumpled and turned over inside-out.

The basic form is a tube made of mesh-material, which's outside is made of quilted spinnaker, while the inside is upholstered with printed cotton textile.

Buttercups formed the underlying master for the floral pattern.

The pattern is based on the principle of turning the inside to the outside. Drawings of a buttercup and its stem were created under a microscope.
The microscopic drawing were then taken and their structures were broken apart, edited graphically and finally abstracted. By turning "wendema" inside out, the pattern becomes visible.
